K2 Base Camp & Baltoro Trek
K2 Base Camp Trek is considered one of the best treks on the planet! K2 Base Camp Trek is an arduous and challenging yet rewarding trek, the ultimate Karakoram trekking expedition. This trek is also known as baltoro glacier trek and baltoro K2 trek or baltoro gondogoro la trek by mountaineering and trekking fans around the world. Baltoro trek consists mainly of walking on rocky mountain trails, along the Baltoros Glacier and the Godwin-Austin Glacier; The Baltoro Glacier is approximately 63 kilometers, the fifth longest non-polar glacier in the world.
This trek can be accessed from Pakistan, the trek offers a unique experience for trekkers and nature admirers to spend time with the mighty mountains. K2 Base Camp Trek offers you the chance to be a spectator atop four 8000m high peaks including Broad Peak (8051m), Gasherbrum 1 (8080m), Gasherbrum 2 (8035m) and K2 (8611m). m). It also presents the opportunity to witness several other beautiful peaks between 5,000 and 8,000 meters. This includes other well known peaks like Gasherbrum 3 and 4, Masherbrum, Trango Towers, Uli Biaho, Mustagh Tower, Miter Peak, Crystal Peak, Marbel Peak, Biale Peak, Lobsang Spire, Urdukas Peak and Cathedral Peak etc.
At different stages of the trek, one is surrounded by massive glaciers including Biafo (world’s third longest non-polar glacier: 67 km), Boltoro (fifth longest non-polar glacier: 63 km) Vigne, Godwin-Austen, Liligo , Dunge, Muztagh, Biango, Yermanendu, Mandu, etc. Our trail will cross streams and rivers including Panma, Braldu and Indus at different points.
After 10-11 days of trekking on the bumpy mountain trails of Karakoram, you will have a chance to stand at the base camp of the mighty K2 and definitely earn the title of a fearless trekker.
You will have the option to select the standard K2 Base Camp trek or continue through the Gondogoro LA pass; Gondogoro is a tough pass for extreme trekkers who will have to cross the pass at 5600m and will also have the chance to experience the amazing views of all four 8000ers of the Baltoro region including K2, Broad Peaks, Gasherbrum 1 and Gasherbrum.
